Skills for London Awards 2010

This year’s prestigious Skills for London Awards 2010, set to showcase the talent and achievement of people and organisations who represent excellence in learning and development across London, will be held on 3 June 2010.

The search is on to find learners, employers and training providers who represent excellence in learning and development in London.  The winners will go forward to the LSC National Awards later this year.

There are 14 awards on offer, they are:-

Apprenticeship Categories

Young Apprentice of the Year - designed to acknowledge and celebrate young learners’ exceptional achievements during their two years on the Young Apprenticeship Programme.

Apprentice of the Year and Advanced Apprentice of the Year
– designed to acknowledge and celebrate the apprentices exceptional contribution to the workplace.

Employer of the Year
- acknowledges and celebrates the commitment of employers to developing their workforce through apprenticeships. 

The categories are: micro employer (between 1-9 employees); small employer (10-49 employees); medium employer (49-249 employees); large employer (250-4999 employees); macro employer (over 5000 employees).

 

Skills Categories

Training Provider of the Year – to acknowledge organisations that are offering exceptional and innovative training and education.

Skills for Life – designed to acknowledge and celebrate learners who have achieved a nationally recognised Skills for Life qualification such as Key Skills, and a first Full Level 2 vocational programme enabling them to achieve employment.

Train to Gain Learner of the Year – designed to acknowledge and celebrate the employees who have undertaken work-related training funded through Train to Gain, and who can demonstrate how they and their companies have benefited from this.

Train to Gain Employer of the Year –acknowledges and celebrates the commitment of employers to developing their workforces under Train to Gain. 

The three categories are: small employer (less than 49 employees); medium employer (49-249 employees); large employer (over 250 employees).

There will also be a commendation for each award, granted at the discretion of the judges.
